Colorful Birds

A few more cards from the bird series! I haven't been stamping much so for my holiday cards I was playing around and ended up making unique cards for everyone. I don't think I made 2 the same. I did end up only using 3 main images - the birds, the cityscape and a CHF set, which I'll post later. I had fun coloring in these birds with Copic markers though. Still need to get better at the shading. Anyhow, I'm still on vacation!
Thanks for looking and hope you are enjoying the last days of 2009!

Merry Christmas Yellow Birds

Merry Christmas ! I hope you are enjoying your holidays! May you have a happy and healthy 2010!
Here is a fairly flat card that I made to mail. This cute set is by The Greeting Farm. I think it may be retired - I got it last year. The pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly - such bright happy colors!

Cityscape Cards with Santa

Here are cityscape cards with Santa! I saw a lot of cards that looked so pretty with the silhouette Santa in a sleigh that I had to copy it. I think it looks so fun! I'm actually on vacation now so I don't have time to write down the details. If anyone has any questions about the products I used, I'd be happy to share! Thanks for looking!

Cityscape Series

I started making holiday cards very late this year. I was sick and lazy :). I did a few with this A Muse cityscape stamp. I embossed with silver embossing powder, which comes out nicely. I forgot to buy silvery paper so had very little left.

Stamps: CHF Christmas Critters (sentiment), A Muse Cityscape
Ink: PTI Enchanted Evening
Paper: PTI
Other: Cuttlebug Embossing folder, ribbons, Spellbinders Labels, Martha Stewart Snowflake punch

Happy 1 Baby!

This is for a very special little 1 year old boy! I had fun making this card for him. Used a fun alphabet stamp set. I stamped them on colored paper and cut each letter out. I popped them up on pop dots, which is hard to see here. Sorry for the bad photo, it was taken in artificial light.

Stamps: CHF Bear Hugs, Hero Arts Birthday
Paper: PTI Ocean Depth, Bazzill, DCWV
Other: Studio Calico alphabet stamp set, brads, twine

Back to School

If you were a teacher and not necessarily excited for the new school year, would you like this card? :) I hope so. Anyways, another version using the same supplies. I used the sketch from this week's Farm Fresh Friday.

Ink: Versamagic Dew Drops Ocean Depth
Paper: SU Old Olive, SU Buckaroo Blue, SU Pumpkin Pie, MM Chloe's Closet

URAQT

I finally had some time to play with new toys. The notebook paper punch - how cute is that? And also the stamped image. I really love this line from The Greeting Farm. The little girls are so adorable! On the image, I was trying out for the first time the coloring technique that I've been seeing on everybody's cards. Using a few Copic colors to make pretty highlighted hair. I need to practice more!! I hope V likes this - it's been awhile since I've sent her a card !

I found a new challenge blog (from The Daily Dare) called Anyone For Anya? - it was perfect - I played along with their first sketch challenge !

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Wild Sprouts Annika, $ stamp
Ink: Versamagic Dew Drops Ocean Depth
Paper: SU Certainly Celery, SU Buckaroo Blue, MM Chloe's Closet
Other: Fiskars border punch, May Arts ribbon, Taylored Expression Twinkles

Shower Blooms

Sorry for the awful picture - I didn't have sunlight when I took this photo. This is a shower card that I made with some new stamps and ribbon from PTI. When I saw this "In Bloom" set and all the samples, I had to have it. So many possibilities. I also bought some new Spring Moss paper and ribbon. Actually, I used a Memory Box card as a base. Not a direct match, but in the same family I think :) I popped up the flowers and used a Dollar Stamp for the sentiment. I think the stitched ribbon is my favorite of all the ribbon styles that PTI offers.

Stamps: PTI In Bloom, $ stamp
Ink: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Versamark
Paper: Mermory Box Card/Envelope, PTI Spring Moss, PTI Raspberry Fizz, SU Vanilla
Other: Nestabilities, Fiskars border punch, PTI ribbon, Pearls, Dimensional tape

Wedding Card

I like this SU! set To Have and To Hold - tried not coloring it in this time (lack of time !) and instead just stamped in Versamark and embossed in silver embossing powder. I think I need to find better detail embossing powder. But anyways, I used PTI aqua mist, silver and white combo. I use this soft blue, silver and white combo a lot for wedding cards for some reason. I always play it safe with color combos -- I need to work on that!!

Stamps: SU! To Have and to Hold, Hero Arts Thank You Flourishes
Ink: PTI Aqua Mist
Paper: PTI Aqua Mist, Bazzill Bling silver, Cryogen White
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestabilities die, PTI Ribbon, K&Co pearl

Cool Bicycle

Madsen Cycles Cargo Bikes

I would love to win this cool bike - MADSEN Cargo Bike !

I happened to have just read an article this morning in the NY Times about a town in Germany that has outlawed cars. Read here. I hope these types of communities are being planned here in the US. I don't think it could work for everybody, but I think a lot of people, especially families would be drawn to this type of living.
